The latest superhero movie has given fans the urge to look like Iron Man because of his suit and the Iron Man helmet. The full attire of this awesome superhero has so many cool aspects that we decided to devote a whole article to one: the
helmet.
The Iron Man helmet is perhaps the coolest headgear of all superheroes. Batman may have some gadgets in his mask, Cyclops’ visor allows him to keep his power under control, and the Flash has….um, those cool lightning bolts… But none of these compare to the Iron Man helmet. Many superheroes use head and face gear to protect their identities, as the Iron Man helmet has done for Tony Stark, but this part of his armor has other purposes as well (most of which is based on the two Iron Man movies).
There are several versions of the helmet as seen in the Iron Man movies. The first helmet, part of Tony’s Mark I suit, is a little crude, but it’s what began the legacy of the Iron Man suit. When Tony built the Mark II suit, a new standard was made for the way the Iron Man helmet (and War Machine helmet) would look. Slight variations exist between the Mark II, III, IV, and V, but they all have the unique sleekness that is known by Iron Man fans.

The Iron Man suit is first and foremost armor, and the helmet is no exception. The Iron Man helmet is also one of the ways Tony controls the suit. In the two motion picture flicks, an artificial intelligence program called Jarvis is downloaded into the suit to help Tony. Jarvis interacts with Tony visually through the helmet.
Within the helmet is a heads-up display showing data for the suit’s system functions. As we see in the movies, Tony controls what is displayed through neurotransmission and voice control. The Iron Man helmet is also the primary component of the targeting system for the suit’s weapons (besides the repulsor rays that are fired from the hands and chest). An example of this is
seen when Tony targets each of the terrorists in the Afghani town with darts. And let’s not forget the other features of the Iron Man helmet, including a built in phone.
There currently is not a real version of the Iron Man helmet, since there’s no such thing as a real Iron Man suit. The closest thing is the helmet-mounted display for the F-35 Lightning. But the good thing is, you can get yourself an Iron Man helmet that’s just like the one used in the movies (except without the computer system that’s built into it). Check it out here. But if you have a small wallet, you can get a this cheaper version
of the helmet, or choose one from Amazon’s selection

There are lots of fanboys who’ve made their own homemade Ironman helmets. Some of them look really good. One chap actually made a motorized version of the helmet! Just do a search on youtube & have a look. Pretty amazing the amount of effort they’ve put into their ironman outfits…
